Privacy Policy
The short version
ListenL8r is built local-first. Your reading material, your audio, and your listening history stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. We run no server that touches your content, we have no accounts, and we collect no analytics from the apps. We cannot read what you save, and we would have to redesign the product to change that.
What ListenL8r does with your content
When you save an article, PDF, email, or book, the ListenL8r apps process it entirely on your own hardware:
- The iOS app captures the content you choose to save and places it in your own iCloud Drive, in ListenL8r’s container.
- Your Mac converts that content to audio locally, including the text-to-speech step — no cloud AI service receives your content.
- The resulting audiobooks, transcripts, and reading positions sync between your devices through your own iCloud, under your Apple Account.
- Your library content is encrypted at rest with keys stored in your iCloud Keychain. The encryption keys never leave your Apple ecosystem and are never transmitted to us.
At no point does any of this content, or any information about it (titles, URLs, file names, progress), reach YamLike LLC or any server we operate. There is no such server in the content path.
What we collect from the apps
Nothing. The apps contain no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no accounts. They do not phone home.
Network requests the apps make
- Fetching pages you save. When you save a URL, your Mac fetches that page directly from the publisher’s site, from your own network connection — the same as visiting it in your browser. The publisher’s own privacy practices apply to that request. ListenL8r adds no identifying information of its own.
- Apple services. iCloud Drive and iCloud Keychain synchronization are provided by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Beta testing via TestFlight
If you use a beta version through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple provides us with limited information under the TestFlight terms: crash logs, basic usage statistics (such as install and session counts), and any feedback or screenshots you choose to submit. Crash logs and statistics are shared with us only if you have opted in to sharing them with developers. None of this includes your library content.
Support
If you email us, we receive what you send and use it only to help you. If the app ever offers a diagnostics or support-bundle export, it is generated only when you ask, shown to you before sending, and designed to exclude your library content.
The website
listenl8r.com is a static website. It has no accounts, sets no tracking cookies, and runs no third-party analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard web request logs (such as IP address and requested page) to serve and secure the site, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Children
ListenL8r is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included, by design.
Changes
If our practices ever change, we will update this policy at listenl8r.com/privacy and change the effective date above. Given the product’s architecture, meaningful change would be visible in the apps themselves, not just in this text.
